News from Executive Director, Vickie Snyder

Just in time for beautiful, warm weather our patio is complete! Thanks so much to everyone for your patience during the reconstruction. I hope everyone will get outside to enjoy the new surroundings, especially during our bi-weekly patio lunches.

As you know, we keep a cooler of cold water on the front and rear patios for you to enjoy. Please be sure to take in plenty of fluids and stay out of the direct, hot sunlight.

During the next few weeks our activity staff will be making visits to all of our residents to familiarize them with the varied spiritual events we have scheduled regularly and ensure that those residents who wish to be escorted to or reminded about these events have that opportunity. You can view our spiritual programming on our events page and in our monthly newsletter.

Finally, we are pleased to have our Facebook page up and running. Please like our page and share with your friends! We’ll be updating the page with news and events from our community so you can keep up with our residents.

Stay cool!

News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen

We are celebrating Father’s Day this month with a special meal served on Sunday, June 21 during lunch. We’re also enjoying the wedding theme around DevonHouse and will have a special wedding themed buffet meal later in the month.

Patio picnics are in full swing now that the patio is complete. Picnics are every Wednesday and Friday, weather permitting. The regular meal will be served indoors and the off-the-grill menu will be served outdoors only.

Please, if you’re sitting outside, stay hydrated with the water provided. Thanks!

News from the Activity Department

The warm weather and blooming flowers make June a popular month for weddings and we’re celebrating wedding season at DevonHouse. We’re thrilled to host the Emmaus Garden Club Flower Show, which has a wedding theme this year, on June 20th and June 21st. This event is open to the public.

Our ladies will also have a wedding reception tea, and we’ll celebrate the gentlemen, too, on Father’s Day. Plus, we’ll have sundaes at our social on June 19th, and a bake sale later in the month to benefit Cookies for Kids Cancer.

Enjoy this beautiful season, see you at the flower show!
