From the Desk of the Executive Director, Rodney Jackson

How did it get so late so soon?
Its night before its afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?

– Dr. Seuss

News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen

There are lots of special dining occasions coming up this month! We’re celebrating Father’s Day and the first ever DevonHouse Senior Prom.

Our special Father’s Day meal is at lunch on Sunday, June 19th, and features shrimp thermidor and chicken marsala. Our theme meal this month is on the evening of the prom, with Parisian foods including pork normandy and beef bourguignon.

Weekly patio picnics are in full swing, so please join us outside at lunch for goodies right off the grill. And don’t forget about our pastry cart in the living room daily!

As always, bakers club meets on the last Thursday of the month, and we’re looking for your favorite recipes to prepare.

We’re hosting our first ever “Senior Prom” event, complete with flowers, photo opportunities, and dancing after a delicious Parisian themed dinner. Plus, members of the Lehigh Valley swing Club will be performing an exhibition!

We are also celebrating Father’s Day this month. Join us on the Friday before Father’s Day “Polkas and Pretzels on the Patio.”

And, I “mustache” all the ladies to join me for our “Mustache Bash” ladies’ tea on Monday June 20th.

Our ginormous cookies are back by popular demand for the “Cookies for Kids Cancer” bake sale! Cookies will be on sale Friday, June 10th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and all proceeds we raise will be matched by a local company.
