Let’s have a September to remember!

I am pleased to announce our annual DevonHouse Volunteer Picnic will be on Monday, September 12th, at 6:00 pm. Each year we honor all of the wonderful and dedicated people who serve our residents throughout the year. We’re honoring The Salisbury Police Department, the Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, the Emmaus Ambulance Corps., Lehigh Valley Therapy Dog Group, Kingdom Life Ministries, Lehigh Valley Baptist Church, and St. Thomas Moore Church, just to name a few. Please join us for the festivities.

Ready for a new ‘do this fall? Starting this month, we’re expanding our hair care options for our residents. With the addition of L.A. Hair to the DevonHouse team, we will offer a greater variety of services, lower prices, and more convenient appointment times. L.A. Hair specializes in professional quality salon services for seniors. Their experience is unparalleled, with an uncompromising level of customer service to every resident they serve. They’re a great match for DevonHouse, and we’re thrilled to have them here!

It’s September, and that means it’s time to send summer off with a bang. We’ll have a picnic on Labor Day, with festivities on the patio or in the dining room. Our weekly patio picnics will be winding down as the weather changes, so please enjoy them while you can!

Ready for some great grub? Our monthly theme meal will be a Western round-up, with Texas flair.

Bakers Club continues to meet each month, and we’re excited to make YOUR favorite recipes!

Be on the lookout for seasonal menu changes. If you have any suggestions – any items you’d like to see more of less of – please let me know.

Giddyup! September’s theme is “Wild, Wild, West.” Count on cowgirl flair at our ladies’ tea, plus western themed craft classes and old west decorations popping up all over.

Please be sure to visit our family tree memory wall in honor of Grandparents’ Day this month in the activity room. The wall features images of our residents throughout their lives. Who will you recognize?

Monday, September 12th is our annual volunteer picnic honoring those who contribute so much to our community all year. Please join us! It’s sure to be a great time, and includes a western-style barbecue.
