From The Desk Of The Executive Director
A most anticipated spring is finally arriving!
After a tease in March, temperatures are rising and flowers are just blooming. Our tree limbs are getting ready to burst into leaf, forsythias are dancing in the breeze, and the sun is warming the earth – and my soul!
Spring gives us a feeling of renewal and we are invigorated with energy and optimism. The robins have arrived and are preening themselves in the sun, much to the delight of our residents who enjoy watching them.
I am always pleased to experience the longer days, as they allow me to spend time in nature with my horses. With all their pent up energy, the horses delight in racing through the fields. We may not run in the grass ourselves, but the longer days of sun seem to uplift the spirit of all of us!
As spring renews our energy, I look forward to seeing everyone here at DevonHouse for our spring events. And, I would like to personally wish each and every one of you a wonderful Passover and happy Easter!

News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
In April, we’re celebrating all things Spring, beginning with Easter. On Easter Sunday, the main meal will be served during the lunch hour and will feature an Easter ham with all the fixings.
Our monthly theme meal is “Think Spring!” Look forward to seasonal spring foods and a scrumptious lemon meringue pie.
Exciting changes are coming to our menus. Menu jackets (like you would find in a restaurant) will replace selector sheets.
The new menus will have all of our Always Available items plus new choices, and your friendly servers will be ready to tell you all about the daily chef’s specials.

Ready to hop into spring?
We’re continuing our tradition of hosting an Easter egg hunt for the second grade classes at Western Salisbury Elementary. This event will be held on April 7th, indoors, so that everyone can participate.
Then, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids of DevonHouse residents and staff are invited to hop on over for our Friends & Family Easter Egg Hunt. Weather permitting, we’ll be out on the front lawn, along with the Easter bunny, who will be stopping by for a photo shoot.
This month there is extra music in the air at DevonHouse! In addition to our weekly musical guests, we’re also excited to hear the Macungie Minstrelaires. Plus, our favorite Elvis impersonator will be here to shake things up!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Friends & Family Sunday Brunch. It was wonderful to see everyone here. Be sure to mark your calendar for our next brunch on Father’s Day weekend.
