From The Desk Of The Executive Director

Image of sunflowerLabor Day signals the end of a surprisingly cool summer here at DevonHouse. The evening breezes have a hint these past few weeks, and some of the colorful leaves on the trees are suggest that change is definitely on the way.

Fall is my favorite time of year! It is an exciting time of new beginnings. Our children and grandchildren are heading back to school full of anticipation and excitement for a new school year. The pace of life surrounding us quickens.

As the air gets crisp, everyone has a spring in their step! Even my horses and collie are feeling exhilarated with the cooler temperatures, racing each other in the pasture.

And yes, the tempo of activities will pick up at DevonHouse with new events and new entertainers. On Labor Day, we tip our hats to all the hardworking men and women that Labor Day salutes! Our kitchen will prepare a very special picnic for all to enjoy.

We’re celebrating Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 10th with a fantastic brunch from our culinary specialists. We all know that we are in for a special treat that is unparalleled and the whole family is invited!

My best wishes to all for a lovely Rosh Hashanah.

Renee Ackerman, Executive Director
