From The Desk Of The Executive Director
Spring is just around the corner!
March is a pivotal month, ending the doldrums of winter. It usually introduces itself with a vengeance but ends by heralding the beginning of pleasant weather and the optimism that warm, sunny days bring.
We look forward to the gardens surrounding DevonHouse coming to life and residents enjoying spring breezes under the new portico.
I enjoy watching my horses discover their newfound freedom, racing each other in the pasture and “feeling their oats.”
The grass is turning greener, robins are chirping, and the sprouts are starting to pop! Later in the month forsythia will blossom to lift everyone’s spirits. All creatures are welcoming Spring!
As the outdoors go greener, so do we! This month we all become Irish on March 17th, but no one celebrates more than our Human Relations Manager, Jennifer Hoey, who hails from Dublin, Ireland.
Celebrate the holiday by “kicking up your heels” to join us for a jig! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
Spring is on the way, and so are opportunities for dining delights!
Our theme meal this month celebrates St. Patrick’s Day. We’re serving traditional corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes. Wear your finest green!
The next Friends & Family Brunch is on March 18th. Join us for breakfast and lunch favorites. Please be aware that reservations are required for guests. Friends and family are welcome at the 1:00 pm seating. We can seat up to seven guests per resident.
Easter comes early this year, on Aprils Fools Day! Our Easter dinner will be served at the lunch hour – no foolin’- with an Easter ham as our featured entrée. If you plan to leave DevonHouse for the holiday, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
