From The Desk Of The Executive Director

april senior living newsletter imageWow! We are all looking forward to spring arriving in full force, after a winter that didn’t seem like it would end! Bulbs that started to pop out of the earth before all of those March nor’easters will soon provide the first delicate flowers. Glorious spring days are ahead, and the sunshine warms the earth and my soul.

This truly is the time of renewal and optimism. I have always noticed my step is much lighter with the excitement of nature’s rebirth.

The birds are preening themselves in the sunlight, much to the delight of our resident birdwatchers. All of the bird feeders are becoming more active with a variety of takers enjoying their good fortune.

The longer days allow me to spend more time with my horses in nature, too. Shortly, I’ll be adding a new rescue to my pasture, a twenty-year-old mare named Cora. I hope that she enjoys her good fortune, too. She certainly will give my two guys a run for their money in the pasture as they revel in the spring grass.

Back here at DevonHouse, we’re all pleased about making use of the new portico, where residents and gusts can sit and chat while enjoying the sunshine.

Enjoy the days of spring, everyone!

Warmly,
Renee Ackerman
