February has arrived!
Our calendars are filling up with fun parties and gatherings to take us through the cold winter, and celebrate events and holidays throughout the year.
The festivities began with our first theme meal of 2019, where everyone enjoyed delicious Chinese food for Chinese New Year, courtesy of our talented chefs and dining staff. What a treat!
We are busy planning more fun events, including our Friends & Family gatherings for 2019. Please keep an eye on the monthly newsletter for details! Friends & Family gatherings are ideal times to visit with friends and family, enjoy good food and fun, and catch up on the year’s family news. We always love seeing a crowd here.
Speaking of visiting, please take care and stay safe while driving during the unpredictable weather this season.

News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
We’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with a theme meal on February 14th at dinner. With Melissa’s help, our cozy dining room will be transformed for a formal dining experience. The special menu features shrimp cocktail, salmon topped with crabmeat, and red velvet cake. Everyone is encourage to “dress to impress” and wear your best red.
Bakers Club is looking for dessert recipes to feature. Last month, we all enjoyed Lorraine Miner’s oatmeal raisin cookies. Please see Melissa or me with your recipes.
I have an exciting new feature to share with you: Sue’s Chef’s Specials. Every Thursday, Chef Sue will offer one of her signature specials at lunch. This is in addition to the regular menu, specials, and “Always Available” menu. Look for information on your table, and from your server. Please let me know which special you liked best throughout the month so I can pass that on to Chef Sue!

Share the love this month and join us for fun activities!
Sharlene, the “Paintsome Pottery” lady will be back on February 7th to help us paint ceramics. Please sign up ahead of time for this event, as space is limited!
Our annual resident “Sweetheart Dinner” will be held on Thursday, February 14th. The meal is at the regular time, but with extra flair, so dress to impress!
The Girl Scouts will be back selling cookies on Monday, February 18th from 12:00 to 3:00 in the living room. Stock up and support our local girls!
Finally, we’re having a “flower sale” to benefit the Lily’s Hope Foundation. Lily’s Hope is a local organization that provides support to families of babies born prematurely. We’re making felt corsages and Hershey’s Kiss rosebuds. The sale is Wednesday, February 13th, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
