From The Desk Of The Executive Director
A blast of cold air, the colors in nature change, and suddenly it’s the holiday season! The colors have changed indoors, too: I invite everyone to come see the wonderful decorations around our community and to enjoy all of our holiday festivities. It is always so much fun to welcome all of our friends and families here to DevonHouse to celebrate!
Speaking of friends and families, I hope you’ll join us for our Friends & Family Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 14th. Not only is this a great time to catch up during this busy season, but you can also snag a quick photo with Santa after 1:30 pm!
Especially during the holidays, please do let us know in advance when you or your family member will be leaving DevonHouse for an event. That way, we can prepare to have everyone’s medications and extras ready to go right on time to help your day run smoothly.
On behalf of everyone here at DevonHouse, I look forward to seeing you during this festive time and wish you a happy and healthy holiday season!
News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
This month we’re celebrating Christmas with a traditional holiday meal on Christmas Day. The meal will include a Christmas ham with all the fixings, along with cheesecake for dessert. Please do let us know if you are going out for the holiday, so we can be sure to have enough for everyone.
The holiday pie sale is in full swing. Look for the signs around the building, and see any of us in the Food and Beverage department to order a pie. We have several pies to choose from, at just $10 per pie. Pies are baked, boxed, and ready to go for you – just be sure to get your order in three days before you would like your pie.
Did you know that we now have a dispenser full of flavored water in the living room all day, every day? The cold, dry winter air means it is especially important to stay hydrated, so I encourage everyone to take advantage of this delicious offering – especially after morning exercise with Melissa.

The annual Friends and Family Holiday Open House will be held Saturday, December 14th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the living room. Pictures with Santa will be available from 1:30 until 2:30. Everyone is welcome, and there will be plenty of treats and refreshments.
