From The Desk Of The Executive Director
After a great start to the new year with so many visiting families and friends, we get an extra long February! This February brings us a leap day, Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, and another very special day: National Make-A-Friend Day on February 11th.
Why not take this opportunity to make a new friend? Make-A-Friend Day is a great chance to introduce yourself to new people and form new friendships.
New friends bring us opportunities to learn more about the world, share experiences, find unexpected things in common with the people around us, and hear new stories.
Whether it’s a passing “hello” in the hallway, or striking up a conversation over coffee, tea, or a favorite activity, we encourage everyone to get to know each other.
Good friends and companions can show up when you least expect it, and bring such joy. So, go out and make someone’s day!
News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
This month we’re celebrating the Super Bowl and Valentines Day. The Super Bowl party is on Sunday, February 2nd, with a selection of snacks available in the living room during the game.
The Valentine’s Day theme meal – our “Sweetheart Dinner” – is on Friday, February 14th. Wear red and get ready for the transformation! Our dining room goes formal, complete with decorations and favors from Melissa, and a strolling accordionist to entertain you throughout the meal. This is sure to be a festive evening! The menu is “land and sea” with a scrumptious red velvet cake for dessert.
