From The Desk Of The Executive Director
As we move into fall – the season of change – it is a great time to pause, look back on summer, and look ahead to what’s next. This past summer brought more time on the patio than ever, with concerts, outdoor bingo, and even a recent visit from Ferrous, the Iron Pigs mascot! Ferrous’ visit was part of our baseball theme day. The theme days have been a hit, and each week I’ve looked forward to seeing everyone getting creative, dressing up, and having a good time!
I’m also looking ahead to a very positive change coming this fall: the introduction of our new executive director, Michael Cahill. Michael is a proven, caring leader, with over thirty years of experience at the helm of senior communities. And, just like many of us who look after the wellbeing of seniors, that dedication runs in the family. Mike’s son is the executive director of a senior community, too!
I am excited to welcome Mike here, and I will be arranging a virtual “meet and greet” so that everyone can get to know him.
Be assured that both Dean and I continue to be actively involved at DevonHouse. We will be here working with Mike to make certain that we all continue to serve you with the same personal care, service, and attention to detail that has always made DevonHouse so special. We sincerely appreciate your confidence in us.
Please join us in welcoming Mike into our DevonHouse family!
News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen
It’s September, and that means it’s time to send summer off with a celebration. We will be celebrating Labor Day with a picnic style menu featuring burgers, barbecue chicken, juicy watermelon, and more.
The monthly theme meal is a western theme on September 17th, with a barbecue beef entree and apple cobbler for dessert.
Now that we’re back in the dining room, thank you to everyone for your patience as we all adapted to our new setup. The new seating arrangements and times are going well, and will likely be in place for some time. Of course, we will keep you updated!
