News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen

Allentown Senior Living Food and Beverage ManagerThis month our luau is back, with a picnic style buffet with a luau twist, a funnel cake truck, and plenty of entertainment. Please RSVP to our main number so that we have enough food for everyone! There is no limit to the number of guests, since the event is outside.

Throughout August, there are lots of food events, including brunch every other Tuesday, the patio cookout every Wednesday, and either an ice cream social or wine and cheese social every Friday.

We’re in the hottest time of year, so please remember to drink plenty of water. There is a hydration station in the living room for everyone to enjoy during these warmer months.

News from Activities

Allentown Senior Living Activities DirectorThe luau is back! Our annual Friends & Family Luau Picnic is on Saturday, August 28th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

We’ll be set up in the back parking lot under the tents. We’ll have a DJ spinning oldies, a funnel cake truck, and of course plenty of great food on the buffet line!

There is plenty of fun in store. Here are the details to make sure everything runs smoothly:

We ask that you escort your resident family member outside at 11:00 am and assist them in gathering their food from the buffet. Our staff will be buzzing around to assist and clear tables.
Please park on the street. There are handicapped parking spaces available for pick-up and drop-off.

The folks with the funnel cake have asked that we let you know that they are not doing take-out orders. Enjoy it all in the moment!

In addition to the luau, keep your eyes open for theme days this month. Dress up and join in on the fun!
