News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen

Allentown Senior Living Food and Beverage ManagerMarch starts with Fasnacht Day on Tuesday March 1st. We’re keeping up with our annual tradition and bringing in fasnachts from a local bakery at breakfast.

Of course, it wouldn’t be March without a St. Patrick’s Day celebration! On March 17th, we will have our annual St. Patrick’s Day theme meal, featuring corned beef and cabbage.

We end the month with a “Be Well” event. Sample some crisp, spicy Korean slaw to help brighten up the last of the chilly March days.

As always, our Friday socials continue! Please check the dining events calendar for more fun dining programs. Highlights include:

  • 3/5 Ravioli Day
  • 3/7 Cereal Day
  • 3/14 Cheesesteak Day
  • 3/15 Sloppy Joes Day
  • 3/21 Meatball Day
  • 3/26 Spinach Day

News from Activities

Allentown Senior Living Activities DirectorSpring is on the way! Are you ready to “spring forward?”

March kicks off with a lifelong learning presentation that is sure to be fun. Actress Carole Mallory (of “The Stepford Wives”) will be joining us to dish on her life in Hollywood. She’ll fill you in on what Princess Grace, Jackie Kennedy, and the Picasso family were like up close and in person. (And, as a bonus, she’ll have her adorable little dog with her to say hello.)

Mid-month, we have the St. Patrick’s Day theme meal, and “Fox Follies.” Fox Rehab will be here on Friday, March 18th, starting at 2:00 pm with fun programs to test your skills. There are prizes, too!

Remember to set your clocks ahead before you go to bed on March 12th. Longer, warmer days are on the way!
