DevonHouse Senior Living | December 2021 News & Events

News from Chef Jim’s Kitchen

Allentown Senior Living Food and Beverage ManagerWe are in the home stretch of 2021, but the holidays are just getting started! We’ve got plenty of fun and novel dining events on the way for December. Our Friday afternoon socials will continue as usual, but a festive holiday theme each week, coordinated with Melissa and the activities department.

Are you ready for a hearty December “brinner”? Each Thursday in this month, dinner will have a brunch-style menu.

On Christmas Day, the menu features a traditional Christmas ham with all the fixings, and of course a delicious cheesecake for dessert!

News from Activities

Allentown Senior Living Activities DirectorWe have a lot of exciting activities for the holidays!

The 12 days of Craft-Mas will run all month. Based on your feedback, we’re stirring up some extra arts and crafts, and what better time than the holiday season? We’ll have 12 different craft projects throughout December to keep you in the spirit.

Our annual holiday card exchange is back! A full box of blank holiday cards is in the activity room. Take as many as you like, fill out the card for a fellow resident or anyone else in the DevonHouse community, and place your cards in the festive living room mailbox. Cards will be distributed to happy recipients at the card social on Christmas Eve.

Get ready for old fashioned caroling on December 15th! The Olde Towne Carolers, a trio of trained performers, will be back in traditional garb for caroling. This event is not to be missed!

As always, be sure to check the monthly calendar and the daily activity board for the most up-to-date information.

-Melissa Bartynski, Director of Activities

P.S. You can see more about the activities our residents enjoy on our facebook page. Schedule highlights for the month are here.
